Turn Off TV Week...and The Weekend

Well, it was Turn Off TV Week this past week....it was a long week. While we don't really watch a lot of television, it sure is nice to put in a movie when I'm trying to get dinner on the table and to get the kiddos settled before bedtime. Without our TV, the kids were left to their own devices...let's just say that it seemed like I cleaned their bedrooms and hauled toys out of the livingroom at least every twenty minutes each evening AND ALL WEEKEND! Today was the last day of this torturous week....and we turned the TV back on this afternoon. Whew!!!

So, anywho, what did we do all weekend? Well, Megan had her little buddy, Jaymee, over for a sleepover Friday night. I don't think they actually slept much...they didn't even get to bed until 10:30-ish. We all got up early Saturday morning, ate the best pancakes I've ever made (I am pancake-challenged!), and made it to Kellan's 9 am soccer game. As usual, our little athlete played his heart out and scored 4 goals! Yesterday afternoon I took a nap with Jacksen while Marc took Megan, Jaymee and Kellan to Exploration Works and a movie. Then, in honor of Miss Megan's perfect 3rd quarter report card, we enjoyed dinner at Jade Garden (her choice). By the time we got home it was 8:00 and the kids were completely exhausted...we were ALL in bed by 8:30!

Today, Marc, Megan and Kellan went to church while Mr. Jacksen and I went grocery shopping. Megan played soccer at 11:45 - it was cold and windy but she played GREAT! She scored 2 goals and probably played her best game ever! Even though we froze while watching her game, we really enjoyed it.

I guess that pretty much sums up the weekend...I can hardly believe I didn't take a single picture...I need to be better about that!

Not Me! Monday!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

Well, Spring has finally arrived in Montana...and, in preparation for Summer, I have not already been tanning (as in a tanning bed) so I will look at least somewhat presentable in Summer attire. It would be totally irresponsible of me to risk my health just for a nice, dark tan with a cute little palm tree on my hip.

And I definitely haven't been spending $4 on the most delicious vanilla chai teas....um...approximately four days every week....but if I did, I would at least ask for the skinny version! (Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE The Firetower Coffeehouse?!)

Finally, I did not allow my darling little 7-year-old to get her ears pierced last weekend....however, her Aunt Katy might have taken her to the mall and let her pick out the cutest little flower earrings...and four other pair...

Isn't she the cutest?!

Imagination

So, this morning Kellan was munching on some fruit snacks while Marc and Megan were eating breakfast. (Kellan eats breakfast at daycare.) Well, he was feeling really excited because his first soccer practice was tonight so he decided to pretend his fruit snacks were little soccer players. He was completely engrossed in pretend game of fruit snack soccer when Marc happened to nab one of his fruit snacks on his way to the kitchen. We all got a good laugh when Kellan very seriously blurted out "Dad! You took my goalie!" Now that's a good imagination!

March

I know...I have been a blog slacker! The thing is, I can't seem to figure out how to work out AND blog...sigh...
Anywho, I know you've all been waiting patiently (or not so patiently, AMI) for pictures from the month of March. What were the McCauley kids doing last month? Well, they played lots of floor hockey, thoroughly enjoyed St. Patrick's Day, attended the annual Helena High Science Fair, and spent lots of time with their Daddy over Spring Break.

Here are a few pictures (taken with my Blackberry...so not the best quality):

Megan holding a hissing cockroach at the science fair!

The kids learning about blood types at the science fair

Kellan getting ready to score another goal

Our little Irish girl on St. Patrick's Day
I guess that was about it for the month of March! Floor hockey ended last Thursday and soccer starts this Thursday....hopefully the snow will be melted by then! That's right....it's been snowing ALL DAY today!

Not Me! Monday!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

So, I took a little break from blogging during this past month 'cause I was thinking about other things....but I'm now thinking about blogging again and I thought it would only be right to start out with a Not Me! Monday! post....so here goes:

First and foremost, I have not stuck to my New Years resolution to lost ten pounds...nope...I have lost 13 pounds instead! And not to be an overachiever or anything....I'm not planning on losing another 5 pounds either. While I'm typing this, I'm thinking I should've stuck with water instead of the rootbeer I'm currently drinking...I hope I didn't just jinx myself!

Lately, I'm not totally enjoying floor hockey....and it's not because all of my best girlfriends happen to be at the local YMCA at the same time Megan has practice. It just wouldn't be right if I spend that time chatting with my friends instead of watching Megan scrimmage...or would it?

And today, I didn't spend a glorious uninterrupted 9 minutes in a nice, warm tanning bed...but if I did, it would be because I have a little psoriasis issue...not because I want to look like a beach chick...pshhh...

Finally, I am not planning on composing the most amazing blog post complete with fantastic snapshops documenting all of the McCauley kid activities over the past month....hmmmm...I might just have to do that....

Caught off guard...

So, this morning while I was getting him dressed, Kellan suddenly looked up at me with his baby blues with a very perplexed look on his face. He pointed at my....ahem....chest and asked "Mom, what is that crack?" After a brief pause, I replied "My cleavage, Kellan." To my credit, I didn't laugh or break out in a sweat. I was actually thinking to myself that the new push-up bra I recently purchased from Victoria's Secret must really be doing it's job....worth every penny!

Where have I been?

I've been busy....and preoccupied. Miss Megan played her last basketball game on Saturday morning - the improvement in her basketball skills was amazing to see. She had a great time playing and Marc had a good time coaching. Now on to floor hockey...and then soccer!

What am I preoccupied with? Well, I am realizing how hard it is to raise three children, keep a big house clean, work fulltime, and have any time for myself. I actually crave time to myself...more than chocolate cake even! I've been trying to fullfill my New Years resolutions and, for the most part, I've done well. I've lost 12+ pounds since January 1st!!! Woohoo!!! I'm still working on taking more time to myself. Soooo...this weekend I'm going to take some time to go shopping (because my clothes are all too big now!) and spend some time with my girlfriends. I can hardly wait!
