Turn Off TV Week...and The Weekend

Well, it was Turn Off TV Week this past week....it was a long week. While we don't really watch a lot of television, it sure is nice to put in a movie when I'm trying to get dinner on the table and to get the kiddos settled before bedtime. Without our TV, the kids were left to their own devices...let's just say that it seemed like I cleaned their bedrooms and hauled toys out of the livingroom at least every twenty minutes each evening AND ALL WEEKEND! Today was the last day of this torturous week....and we turned the TV back on this afternoon. Whew!!!

So, anywho, what did we do all weekend? Well, Megan had her little buddy, Jaymee, over for a sleepover Friday night. I don't think they actually slept much...they didn't even get to bed until 10:30-ish. We all got up early Saturday morning, ate the best pancakes I've ever made (I am pancake-challenged!), and made it to Kellan's 9 am soccer game. As usual, our little athlete played his heart out and scored 4 goals! Yesterday afternoon I took a nap with Jacksen while Marc took Megan, Jaymee and Kellan to Exploration Works and a movie. Then, in honor of Miss Megan's perfect 3rd quarter report card, we enjoyed dinner at Jade Garden (her choice). By the time we got home it was 8:00 and the kids were completely exhausted...we were ALL in bed by 8:30!

Today, Marc, Megan and Kellan went to church while Mr. Jacksen and I went grocery shopping. Megan played soccer at 11:45 - it was cold and windy but she played GREAT! She scored 2 goals and probably played her best game ever! Even though we froze while watching her game, we really enjoyed it.

I guess that pretty much sums up the weekend...I can hardly believe I didn't take a single picture...I need to be better about that!

Not Me! Monday!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

Well, Spring has finally arrived in Montana...and, in preparation for Summer, I have not already been tanning (as in a tanning bed) so I will look at least somewhat presentable in Summer attire. It would be totally irresponsible of me to risk my health just for a nice, dark tan with a cute little palm tree on my hip.

And I definitely haven't been spending $4 on the most delicious vanilla chai teas....um...approximately four days every week....but if I did, I would at least ask for the skinny version! (Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE The Firetower Coffeehouse?!)

Finally, I did not allow my darling little 7-year-old to get her ears pierced last weekend....however, her Aunt Katy might have taken her to the mall and let her pick out the cutest little flower earrings...and four other pair...

Isn't she the cutest?!

Imagination

So, this morning Kellan was munching on some fruit snacks while Marc and Megan were eating breakfast. (Kellan eats breakfast at daycare.) Well, he was feeling really excited because his first soccer practice was tonight so he decided to pretend his fruit snacks were little soccer players. He was completely engrossed in pretend game of fruit snack soccer when Marc happened to nab one of his fruit snacks on his way to the kitchen. We all got a good laugh when Kellan very seriously blurted out "Dad! You took my goalie!" Now that's a good imagination!

March

I know...I have been a blog slacker! The thing is, I can't seem to figure out how to work out AND blog...sigh...
Anywho, I know you've all been waiting patiently (or not so patiently, AMI) for pictures from the month of March. What were the McCauley kids doing last month? Well, they played lots of floor hockey, thoroughly enjoyed St. Patrick's Day, attended the annual Helena High Science Fair, and spent lots of time with their Daddy over Spring Break.

Here are a few pictures (taken with my Blackberry...so not the best quality):

I guess that was about it for the month of March! Floor hockey ended last Thursday and soccer starts this Thursday....hopefully the snow will be melted by then! That's right....it's been snowing ALL DAY today!
